Valley Sports Wrap – Aug. 25

Volleyball Team Second At Manchester

Kelsey Ball had a big day on Saturday to lead the Tippecanoe Valley volleyball team to a second-place finish in the Manchester Tournament.

Ball, a junior, had 18 kills, six blocks, 13 digs and six aces as the Vikings went 2-1 in the tourney. Coach Abby Turner’s much-improved Valley squad defeated Manchester 25-13, 25-9 and Tri-Central 25-17, 25-20. Lakewood Park Christian beat the Vikings 27-25, 25-20.

Sara Alexander totaled 15 kills to go with five blocks on the day. Caylie Teel had 13 kills and 14 digs, while Kelsey Eckert had seven kills and 30 assists. Courtney Newsome had 11 digs and Tenaya Shull 23 assists and five aces for Valley.  Connor Fraser had three aces for Valley.

Valley hosts South Bend St. Joseph’s Tuesday at 6 p.m.
