Warsaw Police recently investigated the following incidents:
- Aug. 17, 10:55 a.m. Randy Bonham, Warsaw, reported criminal mischief in the form of slashed tires.
- Aug. 17, 10:54 a.m. Thomas Breading, Warsaw, reported a lost license plate.
- Aug. 17, 11:33 a.m. Gerald Hogan, Warsaw, reported theft from two vehicles located inside his garage.
- Aug. 17, 8:08 a.m. Terry Miller, Warsaw, reported a theft from his vehicle at his home in Warsaw. Nearly $400 in cash was taken from the vehicle.
- Aug. 17, 9:06 a.m. Police found Amber Wirsing, Warsaw, at the Economy Inn. Wirsing was wanted on warrant for probation violation.
- Aug. 17, 5:54 a.m. James Eastwood, Warsaw, observed a suspicious male adult inside vehicles. Police located and questioned the man, who had $587 in cash at the time of questioning.
- Aug. 17, 2:46 p.m. A Warsaw woman reported battery and harassment, stating she was choked.
- Aug. 17, 7:36 p.m. Police arrested Robert Deckys at his residence in Warsaw. Deckys was wanted on a warrant.
- Aug. 17, 2:19 p.m. A man reported a shoplifting at Kmart in Warsaw. Police responded and arrested Nicholas Mauck, Elkhart, after recovering stolen items, including an Xbox game and an Adele CD, which totaled around $70 in value.
- Aug. 17, 12:27 p.m. A man reported a shoplifting at Menards in Warsaw. Police arrested Debbie Pearson, Leesburg, after recovering the stolen bottle of Lye.
- Aug. 18, 1:08 a.m. A Manchester woman and a Warsaw woman reported battery and damage to a vehicle a the Time Out Inn, Warsaw. Police arrested Crystal Bennett, Warsaw, for the battery incident and damaged vehicle.
- Aug. 18, 4:55 p.m. A traffic stop resulted in the impoundment of a juvenile’s vehicle. The juvenile had false registration and no valid operator’s license.
- Aug. 18, 6:17 p.m. Police responded to a received a third party notification in reference to minors consuming alcohol at a residence on Garfield Street, Warsaw. They found an underaged male and a juvenile female, who had marijuana in her purse. Police arrested Charles Coffelt, Warsaw. Investigation continues.
- Aug. 18, 1:08 a.m. Eric Bennett, Elkhart, was arrested at Wilby’s Gas and Goodies for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
- Aug. 18, 11:27 a.m. Catherine Schmidt, Warsaw, reported a theft of $60 in cash from a white envelope in her home.
- Aug. 19, 7:58 a.m. Jack White, Warsaw, reported criminal mischief after his mailbox was found dented and laying on the ground. Police believe the weapons used to be a baseball bat and damage is thought to be around $50.
- Aug. 19, 3:06 a.m. Moriah Young, Winona Lake, reported a theft of a wallet and contents from her vehicle while at Los Gordos, Warsaw.
- Aug. 19, 1:30 p.m. A Warsaw man reported finding a set of keys on a pink carabiner at the roundabout at Fox Farm Road and Lake Street.
- Aug. 19, 9:54 a.m. Kim Clase, Etna Green, reported a theft of $38.49 in gasoline from Wilby’s in Warsaw.
Accidents
Warsaw Police recently investigated the following accidents:
- Sunday, Aug. 19, 8:34 p.m. East Clark Street and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Driver: Alec Maxwell, 19, 636 Walter Way, Warsaw. Upon realizing that his mo-ped engine was dying, Maxwell attempted to pull over, but his back break did not work properly, so he applied his front break too hard and his mo-ped flipped over. Both he and his passenger were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damages: under $1,001
- Thursday, Aug. 16, 2:12 p.m. 1900 Plaza Dr. Drivers: Kimberly Finch, 52, 322 North Lake St., Warsaw; and Johnny Lee, 26, 1309 West 90th St., Chicago. Lee had stopped to let a passenger out of his vehicle, when Finch, unaware of him, backed into his vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
