Manwaring Tops Tigers At Invite
The Warsaw girls golf team, led by Alexis Manwaring, placed 10th in the 17-team field at the Western Invitational Saturday in Kokomo.
The No. 18 Tigers shot a team score of 355 in the event, which included seven ranked teams. Manwaring led WCHS with a round of 85 on the par 73 layout at the Chippendale Golf Course.
Nikki LaLonde and Elizabeth Meadows each shot an 87 for the Tigers. Morgan Sands finished with a 96 and Ashley Murrell 102.
No. 3 Hamilton Southeastern won the invitational with a team total of 309. No. 4 Noblesville was second at 317 with No. 5 Penn third at 330. No. 12 Lafayette Jefferson was fourth at 336, followed by No. 13 Center Grove (340), No. 18 Marion (340), Northwestern (341), Western (344), Roncalli (354), Warsaw (355), Twin Lakes (360), Rochester (376), Fishers (389), Plymouth (389), Western Boone (406), Westfield (430) and Kokomo (445).
Warsaw faces Whitko Tuesday at the Sycamore Golf Club in North Manchester.
