St. Joseph Chamber Hires Business Growth Leader
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Greg Lorch is The Chamber of Commerce of St. Joseph County’s new director of business growth and joins their economic development team beginning today. In his role, Lorch focuses primarily on the organization’s efforts to grow existing businesses in St. Joseph County.
Lorch has a background in business and product development, strategic planning and project management. His extensive work experience includes more than 30 years with Bayer Healthcare, LLC, in Elkhart, and four years with Zimmer, LLC in Warsaw. Most recently, Lorch has served as a consultant, thought leader and coach. Last year, he was a coach for the Pre-Seed Workshop program, a two-in-a-half-day intensive commercialization training session offered by the North Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Greg, who served as a coach in our Pre-Seed Workshop,” said Jan Fye, SBDC executive director. “He offered a wealth of experience as he facilitated his team — so much so that they continued to work with him after the training was completed. Greg will be able to use all of the critical-thinking skills gained over his career to offer this same support and assistance to our area business community,” said Fye.
Said Jeff Rea, president and CEO of The Chamber, “Greg’s many years as a high-level executive with Bayer and Zimmer make him a perfect fit for the position.” In his role, he will proactively identify and meet with area businesses to offer them solutions for business growth and expansion opportunities.
