Goshen Attorney Joins Miller’s Legal Team
A Goshen attorney has filed an appearance on behalf of Dr. Dane Miller in a civil case charging his former business partner in Winona Restoration Partners LLC of wrongfully obtaining real estate and mishandling financial information and documents.
John Ulmer filed the appearance on July 31 in Kosciusko Superior Court 1. Ulmer joins the law team of Michael Reed, Warsaw; and R.C. Richmond III of the Taft Stettinuis & Hollister law firm in Indianapolis.
On July 16, a motion was filed and granted appointment special judge Terry Shewmaker of Elkhart County Circuit Court, to the case.
Miller is suing Brent Wilcoxson alleging his former partner in Winona Restoration Partners LLC wrongfully transferred 13 parcels of real estate to his own company, known as Winona Arts Restoration & Preservation Inc., and mishandled financial information and documents. The charges also alleged that Wilcoxson used money from WRP to pay for his son’s college education.
A restraining order remains in effect prohibiting Wilcoxson from setting foot on or making any changes to the 13 parcels of real estate in question until the matter goes to trial or a settlement is entered into.
Wilcoxson and his defense team has until Aug. 18 to notify the court of his response to Miller’s charges. A telephone status conference between the parties is set for 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17.
Ulmer told StaceyPageOnline.com that he was asked to file an appearance on behalf of Dr. Miller in Kosciusko County Superior Court I. When asked if a change of venue was possible, Ulmer said he had no comment. Ulmer also would not say why he was asked to join Miller’s legal team.
A call to attorney Michael Reed have thus far gone unanswered.
