Church Project Served Winona Lake
They began their service at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 28, and by noon, the approximately 110 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints had cleaned the creek along the Winona Lake bike trails.
The group worked to clear branches and sticks from the creek bed and church members came from as far north as South Bend and Mishawaka and as far West as Plymouth to pitch in. Members reported that clearing of the sticks and large logs not only helps the water flow better, it improves the overall look.
The church group did the task with smiles and even sang while they praise the morning air. Children, teens and adults all pitched in to remove the brush, which was stacked along the trail and will be removed by Winona Lake town crews.
