Accidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
- Thursday, July 26, 9:37 p.m. CR 175 E, 2,000 feet south of CR 550N. Driver: Lauren Rodgers, 22, 6232 N. Highland Lane, Leesburg. Rodgers struck a deer. Damages: under $1,000
- Thursday, July 26, 5:30 a.m. US 30E and SR 19N, Etna Green. Drivers: Richard Korn, 58, 1219 Perry Way, Watertown, Wisc., and Jonathon Rohrer, 26, 6275 S 600W, Claypool. Korn could not stop for a yellow light and was in the intersection when the Rohrer got a green signal. Korn struck the Rohrer’s vehicle. Damages: up to $25,000
- Thursday, July 26, 3:57 a.m. Oriole Drive and Lakeview Boulevard. Driver: William Degaetano, 80, 1407 Oriole Dr., Warsaw. Degaetano traveled off the roadway and struck a mailbox. His car then caught on fire, damaging property surrounding the accident. The driver was treated by medics on the scene. Damages: up to $25,000

Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following incidents:
- Thursday, July 26. Larry Holloway, North Webster, reported the theft of a gas can from his shed.
- Thursday, July 26, 7:21 a.m. Lucy Broadley, Warsaw, reported an unknown person entered her residence and took an unknown amount of money.
- Wednesday, July 25, 10:21 p.m. Scott Colbert, Cromwell reported finding a man ruffling through belongings inside his mother’s mini van. The suspect fled the scene. Prescription pills, sunglasses, and an electronic cigarette were stolen.
- Saturday, July 21, 1:17 a.m. Amanda King, 23, Warsaw, failed to yield the right of way and was ultimately arrested for driving while suspended.
