Artie Junior Long
Artie Junior Long, 78, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012, in his residence.
On Sept. 24, 1933, he was born to Artie Drew and Florence (Ryan) Long in Oswego, Ind. He married Mary Catherine Wayne in 1960 in Joliet, Ill. She preceded him in death in 1996.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Artie worked for R.R. Donnelley and Son Corporation as a cylinder maker, retiring in 1990. Artie graduated from Leesburg High School in 1951, then he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951–1955. He was a former member of American Legion Post #253, North Webster, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing, wood working and crafting and he was a good Father.
Artie is survived by three children: Jack (Dee) Long, Warsaw; Kim (Craig) Long Clark, Warsaw; and Rose Long, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Jack A. Long, Rachel Long, Whitney Clark, Curtis Clark and Gage Vervaet; two great-grandchildren: Madison Morris and Camron Morris; two sisters: Lutie Beatty, Milford and Bertie Lentz, South Bend.
No visitation or services are planned. Burial will be at a later date.
