Wounded Warrior Team To Be At Fair
There will be another opportunity today (July 22) for persons to get to meet some true American heroes.
The National Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team, which played a pair of exhibition games Saturday in Goshen and Elkhart, is scheduled to take part in the Elkhart County 4-A Fair Parade in Goshen. The group of inspirational veterans, all of whom lost a limb while on military tours in either Iraq or Afghanistan, are then slated to be part of a “Meet and Greet” at the Fairgrounds in Goshen.
The Fair Parade is scheduled to start today at 1:30 p.m. at Linway Plaza in Goshen. It is slated to pass the fairgrounds’ grandstand at approximately 2:15 p.m.
The “Meet and Greet” event after the parade is scheduled to last until about 7 p.m. this evening (Sunday). It will be held in the corporate picnic tents, which are located north of the Main Entrance (Gate G) at the fairgrounds.
Today is also Family Free Day at the fair, which runs through July 28, with no gate admission charge.
The WWAST, which was founded in 2011, travels all over the country taking part in exhibition games. The talented team is made up of both former servicemen from the Army and the Marines.
