Deer Causes Crash in County
A single-vehicle crash Saturday in southern Kosciusko County that has left one person in serious condition was allegedly caused by a deer.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with other emergency personnel, responded to a 9-1-1 report along Packerton Road Saturday at approximately 7:46 p.m. The accident happened just south of SR 14.Upon arrival officers and responders located a black 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck that had stuck a utility pole on the west side of the roadway. Kelly S. Bozell, 43, Akron, was reportedly southbound on Packerton Road when a deer suddenly ran in the roadway. Bozell attempted to swerve to miss the deer and went off the shoulder of the roaway, strkining a untility pole.Bozell was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center from the scene and was in serious, but stable condition this morning.
Kosciusko County Fatal Accident Crash Team members were on scene and stated the crash was still under investigation pending legal blood draw results as required by Indiana state law.
