Ben Weaver
Ben Weaver, 83, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 12:35 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012, at his residence.
On Nov. 13, 1928, he was born in Galveston, Ind., to Joseph and Florence (Luse) Weaver.
Ben married Rebecca McMurry in Logansport, Indiana on Sept. 26, 1953.
He was a long-time resident of Warsaw. Ben served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Starting in 1953 he was employed by Standard Oil Company then in 1975 started Weaver and Sons Oil, Inc. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49, Warsaw and the Leesburg Lions Club, Leesburg.
Ben is survived by his wife: Rebecca Weaver, Warsaw; a son: Jay (Cindy) Weaver, Leesburg; daughters: Lisa (John) Spears, Chicago, Ill.; and LoriAnne Weaver, Lake Zurich, Ill.; a brother: Mike (Patricia) Weaver, Galveston; a sister: Carolyn Eshelman, Galveston; a sister-in-law: Betty Weaver, Galveston; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother: F.A. (Jim) Weaver; and a son: Jan Weaver.
Visitation hours will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Christian burial services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be at Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg,with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 49, Warsaw.
