Marsh Closing 3 Indiana Stores
FISHERS, Ind. (AP) — Marsh Supermarkets Inc. said it plans to close three supermarkets in central Indiana.
Marsh spokeswoman Connie Gardner confirmed the impending closings in Anderson, Greenwood and Martinsville to the Indianapolis Business Journal on Tuesday. She didn’t say when the stores would close.
The closures will leave two Marsh stores in Anderson, one in Greenwood and none in Martinsville.
Gardner says Marsh intends to grant as many employees as possible a severance package or give them the opportunity to transfer to other locations.
The closures will leave Marsh with 93 stores in Indiana – including one in Warsaw – and Ohio. About half of those are in the Indianapolis area.
Marsh closed another store earlier this year and three others in 2011.
