Incidents
The following incidents were recently investigated by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department:
- July 8, 10:46 p.m. A Pierceton woman reported a family fight and a theft.
- July 8, 1:10 a.m. Maria Aguirre of Pierceton reported the theft of cash, jewelry and clothes from her residence.
- July 7, 10:42 p.m. Tamara Wood of Leesburg reported a lost/stolen license plate.
- July 7, 6:53 a.m. Ronald Felton of Silver Lake was arrested at his residence for domestic battery.
- July 6, 8 p.m. An Elkhart man reported that someone attempted to steal his aluminum dock at his lake cottage in Claypool.
- July 6, 8:30 p.m. Charlie Parker of Sidney reported the theft of an electric scooter from his yard.
- July 6. David Cook of Warsaw reported someone had gained access to his line of credit via the Internet.
- July 6. Jason Freel, CR N 500 E, Syracuse, reported finding a bullet lodged in a wall of his home.
- July 5, 12:59 a.m. Officers of the KCSD were called to Green Acres Mobile Home Park in reference to an intoxicated person causing problems. The individual was later arrested for OWI.
- July 5, 4:38 p.m. Rosa Marie Quezada, Warsaw, reported someone used a check from her closed account to pay for services.
- July 5. Cayle Woodard reported a building on Old Rd. 30 near Robson Lake Road had been broken into.
- July 3, 2:01 a.m. AAA Taxi Service of North Webster reported that a female was not paying for a cab ride from Fort Wayne to Jellystone Park Campground.
- July 3, 12:46 a.m. A Winona Lake couple reported receiving harassing text messages and phone calls from a male subject.

- Sunday, July 8, 12:04 a.m. 291 EMS T25 Ln., Leesburg. Driver: Alexandra M. Durbin, 17, 5505 N. CR 700 W., Muncie. Driver backed into a vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500
- Saturday, July 7, 6:54 p.m. CR 175 E and CR 1150 N., Milford. Driver: Kadie L. Richardson, 24, 24579 Perkins Ave., Elkhart. Driver was northbound on CR 175 E and failed to negotiate the turn at CR 1150 N and struck a highway sign. Damages: up to $1,001
- Saturday, July 7, 4:42 a.m. Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Driver: Whitney S. Irwin, 22, 2911 17 C Rd., Tippecanoe. Driver was on a mo-ped and swerved to avoid a vehicle veering into her lane causing her to run off of the road and strike a mailbox and crash. Irwin suffered head injuries and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. OWI charges are pending. Damages: up to $2,500
- Saturday, July 7, 7:33 p.m. Barbee Road, Pierceton. Drivers: Madison K. Brewer, 18, 11378 E North 00S, Marion; and Crystal R. Fishburn, 19, 4294 N. 700 E., Leesburg. Fishburn was southbound on Barbee Drive when Brewer pulled into her path. Brewer said she was looking for a house number and failed to see Fishburn. Damages: up to $10,000
- Friday, July 6, 5:23 p.m. County Farm Road, Claypool. Driver: Bradley A. Sensibaugh, 37, 1162 W 800 S., Claypool. The vehicle’s steering broke and the car left the roadway entering a bean field owned by Vana Dell Farms. Damages: up to $2,500
- Friday, July 6, 7:03 p.m. SR 25 South and 3rd Street, Palestine. Driver: Brian P. Shepherd, 25, 2441 W 250 S, Warsaw. Shepherd said he may have been lighting a cigarette but does not remember what caused him to drive off of the road and hit a telephone pole and a tree. He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment of neck pain and a cut to a thumb. Damages: up to $5,000
- Friday, July 6, 10:06 p.m. at CR 675W and Holderman Road, Silver Lake. Driver: Kenneth L. Meyers, 41, 10855 N. 200 W., Huntington. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000
