NWS: Drought Conditions ‘Extreme’
The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana is reporting that dry conditions starting 2012 have impacted much of the region.
June’s hot and dry weather only intensified on-going drought conditions across the area. According to the NWS Drought Monitor, moderate to extreme drought conditions are present across much of northern Indiana, southern lower Michigan and northwest Ohio with abnormally dry conditions across most of the region.
The NWS issues Drought Information Statements to summarize the impacts and forecast. This latest update is from July 5 and the statement will be updated by July 12, or sooner should conditions warrant.
