REMC: All Power Back On Tonight
Kosciusko REMC reports restoration efforts continue this morning after a severe storm tore through Kosciusko County Friday afternoon and says some customers could remain without power until early Sunday evening.
As of 10 a.m. about 400 to 500 members were still without power.
KREMC workers reported finding more poles and lines down than initially expected. They say all outages should be repaired by early this evening.
KREMC line crews are out in force to correct outage issues. The public is advised to ALWAYS stay away from downed lines, and to report any issues immediately to the cooperative at 574-267-6331 or 1-800-790-7362.
Areas most affected are in the southern part of the county. Source problems continue with NIPSCO for Kralis substation and Mentone meter point. Numerous poles are broken in several locations.
Outside crews have been called in to assist with power restorations. Efforts are underway to restore their power as quickly as possible. Crews will continue working through the night.
