Mildred ‘Millie’ Evelyn Penn Ellison
Mildred “Millie” Evelyn Penn Ellison, 89, of Pierceton, Ind., went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Mason Healthcare Center, Warsaw.
On Nov. 25, 1922, Mildred was born to Charles and Mary (Emerick) Penn in Huntington County, Ind. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County since 1950 residing in the Warsaw area. On Feb. 16, 1945, she married Richard Ellison in Huntington.
In 1941 Mildred graduated from Clear Creek High School in Huntington. Mildred was a homemaker and owned a farm with her husband since 1950. Mildred was a member of the Monroe Happy Homemakers and the Farm Bureau. Mildred so enjoyed animals, Beanie Babies, bingo and bus trips.
Mildred is survived by her husband: Richard Ellison, Pierceton Ind.; four daughters: Mary Lou Cotton, Syracuse, Ind.; Dorothy Rutledge and companion Steve King, Claypool, Ind.; Betty (Dan) Ormsby, Columbia City, Ind.; Linda Lambert, Warsaw; along with two sons: James (Karen) Ellison, Warsaw; and Donald (Kelly) Ellison, Pierceton; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren (and one great- grandson on the way); and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 29, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton. Funeral services for Mildred will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis L. Bollenbacher officiating the service. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
The family has asked for memorials to be made out to the Law Dogs of Kosciusko County care of the McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Drive, Warsaw, IN, 46580, or to show an act of kindness, and adopt an animal in Mildred’s memory.
