Kristin Quick won the Queen of Lakes pageant Saturday night at the annual North Webster Mermaid Festival. Quick, who is Miss Winona Lake, beat out 14 other girls for the title at the 67th annual pageant.
First runner up was Kaytlyn Eberly, Miss Papakechie. Second runner up was Kierstin Bailey, Miss Little Tippy. Third Runner up was Jenna Coy, Miss Syracuse Lake.
This year, the swimsuit portion was eliminated and in place of it was theme wear. The winner of theme wes Erin Kintzel. Miss Congelitity went to Erika Ksiezopolski.
Jenna Coy won the first place parade award. Second place went to Bailey and third place went to Eberly.
The Service Award went to four women: Eberly, Kristin Lemaitre, Ashley O’Conner and Quick. Each of the women won $100.
The theme of this year’s pageant, and Mermaid Festival, was Creatures of the Deep vs. Superheros. Each of the women wore costumes during the theme wear portion.
Next, evening gowns were worn before four finalists were chosen. The four young women were asked, “What have your learned about yourself after participating in the pageant?”
Next year’s theme is “Land of the Dixie.” The pageant was sponsored by North Webster Lioness Club.
