Democrat United States Representative Joe Donnelly voted in favor of President Obama’s health care reform law. This law added a 2.3 percent tax on medical device manufactures. If you recall, this is the ObamaCare law that Congressional members voted for thinking it was not necessary to “read” first.
Although this provision likely doesn’t affect many states on a significant level, it does affect ours, here in the Warsaw area. Additionally, a large part of Indiana’s businesses are influenced by the medical device manufacturing industry. Increasing their tax rates will hamper not only the creation of new products, but also the creation of more jobs for unemployed Indiana residents. This disastrous provision could even call for lay-offs of those already employed.
In the race for Indiana’s Senate seat, Joe Donnelly lists jobs and lower taxes as two pillars of his platform – a total contradiction of what his voting record presents.
Hoosiers need to focus on electing lawmakers who have their priorities straight. Obviously, Joe Donnelly is more interested in buckling under pressure from Nancy Pelosi and Barak Obama than doing what is best for Hoosiers.
