WPD Makes Media Info Public
Beginning Friday, June 1, 2012, the Warsaw Police Department will begin publishing information releases by way of Nixle Connect. Nixle Connect is a free community information service built exclusively for secure and reliable communications.
Nixle Connect allows law enforcement agencies nationwide to communicate with the public via SMS text, E-mail, and Internet posts, at no cost to the department or to taxpayers. Communications can range from emergency alerts to routine day-to- day information including traffic and missing persons reports, safety tips, crime information, community outreach programs, and other public safety information.
The Warsaw Police Department will also only publish media press releases by way of Nixle Connect instead of by E-mail or Fax. Operating in this manner will keep the police department from maintaining ever-changing E-mail addresses and Fax telephone numbers.
Media news agencies and citizens can register to receive messages from the Warsaw Police Department by registering online at www.nixle.com or by sending a text message with the zip code ‘46580’ to 888777.
