North Webster Is Setting For New Film
Ace In The Hole Films of Milford, Ind., is proud to announce its first film, a short entitled The Destination. The Destination began shooting in May in North Webster, Indiana and will continue shooting in Townsend, Tenn., in early June. It will be released on Nov. 8, 2012.
The story follows Ash, a young boy who wakes up alone in an unfamiliar place. He hears the sound of his parents crying and sets off on a journey to find them. Ash meets people willing to help point him in the right direction, but he soon learns that his original goal was not his destination.
“This is a very personal, emotional film for me to make.” says A.C. McCray, owner of Ace In The Hole Films and writer/director of The Destination. “I lost three people very important to me in 2011- my son, father and grandmother- and writing this film was my way of dealing with those losses. I think it is not only a way to help me cope with my loss, but I hope it may help others deal with losses they may have had as well.”
The Film will be shot at the Next To Heaven Ranch in Townsend. “We went there looking for a location, and met some great Christian people who really understood what we wanted to do with the film” McCray says. “They have a beautiful property that will be the main backdrop for the film, and have every type of location we need to shoot”. Rounding out the main cast as Jesus is Kris Underwood. Kris is better known as the popular midday personality “Coyote” on Willie 103.5 FM in Warsaw Indiana, where he is also the production director. Behind the scenes, he serves as a location consultant for the film.
Other local actors include Ken Strong, Chris Cage, Penny Rogers, Corie Cox & Erik McCray.
Writer and director A.C. McCray has over 15 years of experience. He has been an actor, producer, director and consultant for many theater productions, and co-founded the Firehouse Theater formerly located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The score will be composed by Thomas Eisenhour. Thomas is an accomplished musician who is currently attending Vincennes University. Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman’s song “Long Way Home” will also be in the film thanks to a special agreement with Mr. Chapman and his publishing company.
According to A.C. McCray, the film “… offers hope to people who have lost someone they care about. It shows that there really is more to life than what we see everyday. Aside from paying tribute to those I loved and lost, if one person is touched by this film in any way, it will be even better.”
