Jamison L. Moseman, 23, of 5 EMS D7 Ln., Syracuse, was flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne hospital after crashing through a barbed wire fence and rolling his vehicle several times. The accident happened at 8:40 p.m. Thursday on CR 1150 North, just south of CR 150 East, Milford.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department report, Moseman was eastbound on CR 1150 North when he drove off of the road and overcorrected. He lost control of his SUV and was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled several times.
Police say Moseman refused to submit to chemical testing so a warrant was received and a blood draw was taken at the hospital. Charges are pending.
StaceyPageOnline.com has learned that two other people were believed to have been involved with the crash but fled the scene in a second vehicle – rumored to be a black smaller passenger car – before emergency personnel arrived.
Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department says the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is still investigating but they believe Moseman and the driver of a second vehicle were driving at a high rate of speed just prior to the crash. One arrest has been made and identity on the third individual is being confirmed.
Christopher Phillips, 24, of Syracuse, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. today on an unrelated misdemeanor failure to appear charge. Police say he was a passenger in the SUV. The driver of the second car, according to witnesses, stopped at the crash site and picked up Phillips before fleeing the scene. Sgt. Hill says that individual’s identity is known and the investigation is continuing.
