As part of National Bike Month and in honor of National Bike to Work Day, the event begins Friday and this year some special events are planned.
Last fall one of the founders of the event was lost in a tragic motorcycle accident and the festival will be honoring him throughout the weekend.
With weekend weather forecast to be perfect biking weather, the festival committee says that even in past years with less than desirable weather, over 1000 cyclists and nearly 5,000 spectators still came up to celebrate. The Fat & Skinny Tire Fest is a community event that brings people from as far away as Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Wisconsin to participate.
